SHE Rises

A space for black women by black women.

Deliberate community. No apologies. Big jobs. Big lives. Big ideas.

Why Failure Lab: SHE Rises?

You cannot talk about failure without talking about identity.

We cannot talk about leadership without talking about identity.

We cannot talk about failure without talking about identity.

At Failure Lab, we are passionate about human-centered leadership. We are passionate about bringing more voices to the table. One of our most popular signature programs, Failure Lab SHE, was created for women leaders by women leaders. It was designed to be a space of community, support, self-reflection, & growth. It has been all of that and more.

And yet, cohort after cohort, we received similar feedback from the black women leaders…..

“SHE was powerful. It was a game changer - the vulnerability…the community. I loved this experience but wish I could have experienced it in a group of all-black women.”

The intersectionality of gender and race is nuanced, complex, and beautiful. We all need many different communities & spaces of learning & support. SHE Rises is a space where black women can just be - a space where they can put down the external & internal expectations to frame, explain, & teach.

The Modules

  • Failure & Foundations 1

An invitation for self-reflection. How does your relationship with failure express itself in your life? Let’s spend some time reflecting on ourselves. Who we are. Why we are the way we are. Who we want to be.

  • Failure & Foundations 2

Understand the physicality of failure & stress. Master the tools to show up in your life with purpose. Take your self reflection to the next level. How do we impact and are we impacted by those around us?

  • Women & Risk

What unique challenges do women leaders face? How does patriarchy impact our lives & our legacies? How do we process risk, and how does it manifest in things like imposter syndrome and perfectionism?

  • Women & Stress

Women experience higher levels of burnout than men. Fact. Why is this? How can we better understand stress and our relationship to it in order to be more effective & improve our overarching quality of life?

  • Women & Boundaries

The work to create a healthy relationship with stress and boundaries is lifelong work, and it is work that is particularly important for women as they navigate the unrealistic expectations of the world and their inner voice.

  • Women & Power

The world needs feminine power to bring it back into balance. What is your relationship with power? Unpack the things that hold you back. How can we work to define power in a way that serves us and celebrates the unique contributions that women bring to the table?
